Most frequent questions and answers

We’re a video & photo production company that works with ad agencies, corporations, local businesses and other entities to produce internal and public-facing video & photo projects. Typically, they are promotional or educational in nature.

More and more we’re producing content meant for social media including Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube and the likes. Everything from personal brands to full-scale podcast productions. We love using our creative expertise to share stories, and we don’t like limiting ourselves to one particular kind of work.

Every project is different, but broadly speaking the production process can be broken down into three phases.

Pre-production: This is when we work with you to learn all about your business and together define what it is you need from video. Some of the questions we might explore are: Who is your target audience? What platforms do you want to publish on? What are the key messages you want to communicate?

From there we’ll create a video outline and/or detailed script, confirm budgets and arrange any filming dates with you.

Production: AKA ‘filming’. This is bit most people think of when they talk about creating videos. Our crew will capture all the required footage – such as interviews, event footage or product demonstrations. We might film at your premises, at our studio or at some other locations relevant to the video messages.

Post-production: Once we’ve captured all the footage we’ll get to work on the edit, crafting the footage into a coherent narrative and adding graphics, titles and music as appropriate. You’ll have chance to review one or more drafts and give feedback before everything is finalized.

6~8 weeks is very general average for a corporate/business video. Social videos and content usually can be turned around much quicker. We can move as quickly as you can.

We find that usually, the most time-consuming part of making a commercial or video is the approval process on the client-side. If you give us the greenlight we can turn around your project extremely quickly.

As a starting point, we’ll arrange at least one meeting or ask you to fill out a short questionnaire to help us understand the project requirements.

From there you can have as much or as little input into the scripting, filming and editing as you’d like. In any case we’ll keep you informed at every step of the process.

We can get our hands on any of the latest professional equipment to meet a specific projects needs.

But our in-house equipment includes multiple BlackMagic Cinema 6K cameras, Sony A7s3s, & Sony A7ivs. Lighting includes Aperture and Godox lights of a wide variety, as well as a full set of gaff equipment. We also have an assortment of gimbals and stabilizers for just about any production.

Of course, we can always rent whatever special equipment is needed from local rental houses for special cases.

When we are hired to produce a project for our clients, they own full rights to all FINAL and FINISHED video projects produced by us.

As for raw footage, a lot of pre-production work and creative planning can go into a shoot and that work is worth something in the form of the raw footage. If the client wants to use it for another project with us, great, there’s certainly no charge for that.

But if they want to take that footage to another entity and cut something different with it, there’s certainly some sort of charge for providing that footage.

This depends on the type of job. For simple talking heads interviews or case studies we can provide a ‘self-shooting’ videographer, who will work alone to capture all the necessary footage.

However our preference is for a two- or three-man crew, consisting of a producer/director to oversee the filming and conduct interviews, plus one or two camera operators to concentrate on the visual and technical aspects. This ensures the key messages of the video are covered more effectively.

For more complex filming requirements we may also recommend extra crew members, such as additional camera operators, a sound recordist, or a drone operator. These will all be costed separately in our quote.

Absolutely! Not only are we willing to travel anywhere if needed, we also have a network of crews on which we frequently rely to get things done in just about any city in the world.

Alongside the filming we’ll create any motion graphics required for the video. These could range from a simple animated logo to a series of stylish infographics. We always use graphics in a way that complements rather than complicates the message of the video.

Not every project requires a voiceover, but when it does we can provide you with a range of different voiceover samples to choose from and we’ll take care of the rest.

When a background music track is required we can source a suitable track from a royalty-free music library and provide a license for usage in the finished video.

Adding subtitles is an increasingly common request and we’re able to offer two options. We can either add subtitles directly to the video (so they always appear no matter when or how the video is accessed) or we can provide a separate subtitle file that can be uploaded to YouTube and other platforms alongside the video. This allows you to toggle the subtitles on and off, and to have several subtitle files in different languages for one video. We’ve provided video subtitles in over a dozen languages.

We usually supply our finished videos in the most commonly used formats, typically .mp4 or .mov. We optimize your media for display wherever you will need it, whether it be for social media, your website, or tv displays.

We’re happy to convert these into pretty much any other format free of charge.

We generally keep backup copies of any footage and project files for a minimum of 1 year. After this, we charge an annual fee to store your data.

We’re happy to revisit and update older projects – for example if you have changed your branding or want to update facts and figures about your business.

If there are concerns about data sensitivity we’re happy to delete all our copies of the media on completion of the project.

In our industry, the half-day and full day rates are standard. On any shoot, our crews put in a considerable amount of time developing a shot list, checking off shoot logistics, preparing equipment, transporting gear and setting up. Every shoot is a 4-hour commitment, minimum.

Of course. We frequently perform just one facet or another of the production process for clients who don’t require full service production.

We can provide anything from a 2-person ENG (news style) crew to a location and commercial crew of dozens, fully equipped, of course.

In most cases, we can.

Our in-house editorial platforms are compatible with just about any source material you can provide and our editors and graphic artists can add commercial quality polish to just about any footage you can provide.

Contact us with some specifics and we can turn a quote right around.

There’s no guarantee of what makes video content go ‘viral’ and we’d be wary of any organisation that promises to achieve this.

However we’re happy to offer advice on distributing your content to the widest possible audience, and can recommend best practices from our marketing experts to make sure you’re getting the most from your video.
